AFRICAN HAIR BRAIDING
At Way-Z Hair Salon we have dedicated hair braiders that specialize in hair braids only. Certain hair braiding services can take 8 working hours so please call ahead and make an appointment and cancel ahead of time courtesy to the braider .
This is the worst experience I have had getting my hair done. I got Tree Braids for the first time so that I could go out of town for mother’s day. I paid $200 for braids that were not complete and began to tangle and friz after one week. The “stylist” only put hair in the very front and that even started to come out after a few days. People were able to see the cornrows in the back and were telling me. I am not sure why she didn’t complete the braids because I provided more than enough of hair I had to buy myself. She did not even use it all. When I got back to town and called the owner, WAY Z, she refused to correct the botched work her stylist did. She refused to even look at it. Now, I have to remove the braids after only two weeks because they look so bad and I have an interview in two days. This is incredibly disappointing and unprofessional behavior from a place that claims they “strive for FIVE”.
When I called to make the appointment in the first place, the receptionist told me that Tree Braids start at $200 when the website says they start at $160 or $180. She said I also had to buy my own hair. Some was supposed to call me in about a day to tell me what kind of hair to buy and how much. No one called until a week later and a couple hours before my appointment. I had to rush and buy the hair. She told me to buy two packs of SYNTHETIC hair. I asked, “Are you sure that is enough and are you sure it should not be HUMAN hair?” She said, “No, the stylist specifically said two packs of synthetic.” I bought three packs of synthetic. She also told me it would actually be $130 so that is what I brought with me. It was after he “stylist” “finished” whatever she did that they then told me the final price would be $200. $200 for three hours of not even half done work. And the owner refuses to fix the problem. It is clear she cares nothing about keeping a potentially long-term client to bring money in for the long run. I will never patronize this establishment EVER again as I have been swindled and robbed out of $200. I highly suggest that no one else should waste their time either.
